The BrewFest will be held at the Special Events Center at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville,VA on Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21, 2012. The BrewFest will open each day at 11:00 AM and close each day at 7:00 PM. Beer pouring will stop at 6:00 PM each day.

To reach Bull Run Park, take I-66 to Exit 52 (Route 29) at Centreville, drive 2 miles south, turn left onto Bull Run Post Office Road and follow the signs to the park entrance. Blue Ridge Kettle Korn

Blue Ridge Kettle Korn originated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a family owned and operated business and its kettle korn is often considered “the best”. The old German recipe has been slightly modified but the slightly sweet, slightly salty taste still remains.

Beer List Update

Attached is the up-to-date list Brewery List Fall 2011 of beers scheduled to be available for sampling at the 5th Annual Northern Virginia BrewFest.

Be sure to look for Fat Tire and Ranger IPA from New Belgium Brewing, Piraat Ale from Brouwerij Van Steenberge, Tramp Stamp & Brown Angel from Clown Shoes Beer, Nectar Red & Union Jack from Firestone Walker Brewery, Straft Hendrick Quadruple from de Halve Maan Brewery, Ludifer Ale from Het Anker, Pils from Stiegl Brewery and Urbock 23 from Schloss Eggenberg.

There will be at least five different selections of Porter, six of pumpkin, eight IPA’s, six Oktoberfest’s, three Pale Ales and more than eight varieties of cider! Beers from more than 10 states and at least four countries guarantee that, literally, there is something for everyone. Even if you are dragging a non-beer person to keep you company, there will be a winery and, of course, the ciders as well as non-alcoholic beverages available.

So come on out to the last BrewFest of the year and enjoy a great opportunity to sample some great beers with good music and food in a beautiful setting and a friendly atmosphere. You can even watch your favorite team play in the Vintage 50 TV Lounge.

Band Schedule

An outstanding lineup of bands has been scheduled for the 5th Annual Northern Virginia BrewFest including three favorites from previous BrewFests: Rew Smith, Chris Collat Band and Jah Works. Joining us for the first time are Andy Hawk and The Train Wreck Endings, T’Akila Jones and The Congress. .

Saturday: 12:30 – 1:45 Andy Hawk and the Train Wreck Endings; 2:15 – 3:30 Chris Collat Band; and The Congress will play two sets to close out Saturday – 4:00 – 5:00 and 5:15 – 6:15

Sunday: 12:15 – 1:30 T”Akila Jones; 2:00 – 3:15 Rew Smith; and Jah Works will play two sets to close the BrewFest 3:45 – 4:45 and 5:00 – 6:00.

Winter IPA
Very well balanced and pushing the palate a bit to make it interesting enough to want more than one bottle. Comes off to be a good beer from a less talked about style … at least in the US. Tasty.

Werewolf
The highly carbonated liquid pours a bright sanguine color with a stark white head that retains its form through the life of the beer. Nice lacing as well. The aroma is strong malt and rye bread fragrance with a hint of berries and slight metal. Werewolf’s sweet malt flavor hits the front of the tongue with subtle berry, grass and wine notes joining in at the midpalate. The liquid momentarily clings to the insides of the mouth before surrendering to a crisp, pleasantly bitter finish.
